Jump, Mommy! Escaping the High Seas Hell
On a scrap steel ship in international waters, ten-year-old Lily and her mother Serena are held captive by pirates. Everyone says Serena is insane, yet she always saves the last bite of black bread for her daughter. When Lily is dying of a high fever, pirate captain Barbossa orders her organs harvested. Serena snaps, drops her act of madness, and fights to protect her daughter, winning medicine for her. From an old newspaper, Lily discovers that her ragged, unkempt mother is none other than city prosecutor Serena—sister of the federal attorney general and fiancée of an ocean-going tycoon. Meanwhile, the pirates announce an international-waters auction next month, with Lily listed as the first lot. Mother and daughter must escape this floating hell before the auction, and the mystery of her mother’s identity slowly unravels.
