Legal & Family Drama In Boston, wealthy heir Richard tricks his wife Kate into signing an irrevocable family trust in 2014, hiding a waiver clause that strips her of all marital assets. After their divorce, Kate spends ten years studying trust law and becomes a Harvard law professor. When Richard's embezzlement of over $9.2 million from the family trust is exposed, the court appoints Kate as the official trust protector. With full legal power, she recovers stolen funds, restores her son Lucas's education fund and secures Richard's mother's pension. Richard pleads guilty to financial fraud and goes to prison. His mother Margaret passes away in spring, while Lucas decides to study trust law to understand the truth behind his family's broken fortune. Kate moves on from her past trauma, using her experience to teach law and resolve other families'trust disputes.
