After serving Queen Victoria for sixty years, legendary medieval court lady Seraphina dies peacefully, only to awaken as an eighteen-year-old maid in the modern-day Alder dynasty. There she finds Victoria, the family's bullied true heiress, who looks exactly like her former queen. As Victoria's scheming stepmother and stepsister plot to steal the family empire and destroy her, Seraphina's old loyalty blazes back to life.
