After being falsely labeled a liar by a so-called “truth-detecting” wristband, ten-year-old Stella suffers years of emotional abuse from her mother, while her manipulative sister Emma is constantly favored. One freezing night, Stella dies alone in her room — yet her mother still trusts the machine more than her own daughter. After Stella’s death, the horrifying truth is exposed, destroying the family with guilt, madness, and regret. But Stella is given a second chance at life and is reborn as Grace Sterling in a loving family. As she slowly heals from trauma, she finally learns what real love, trust, and freedom truly mean.
