Sera, a lowly scaleless dragonkin, reincarnates and is drawn to tyrant Kaelen with a double dragonfire core. As his "private pet", she grows from craving his energy to loving him amid conspiracies, healing his insecurity over his mutation. They clear the village massacre misunderstanding, and Sera is crowned Queen with mutual love and dignity.
