Twenty years ago, six-year-old Ethan Cole was kidnapped outside his home. His father Martin and mother Evelyn never stopped searching for him and never filed to have him declared dead. Two decades later, Ethan has become the founder and CEO of Meridian Apex, a billionaire. Even after DNA confirmed their kinship, he could not help wondering whether his parents wanted their missing son, or the wealthy man he had become. He took off his tailored suit, put on a faded yellow delivery jacket, and returned to Cedar Hollow hiding his true identity. At the Cole family farm, Ethan saw the missing-person posters, birthday cards, and clothes bought for every stage of his growth that he had missed, all preserved by his parents over twenty years. He also found the “Ethan Fund,” nearly drained from years of searching. Evelyn recognized the red pendant he had carried since childhood, and the family was finally reunited. Later, Ethan accompanied his parents to the engagement party of his cousin Caleb.
